David has acquired a vast knowledge of the waters in and around Jamaica Bay, where he has fished since 1976.  He has been saltwater fly fishing since 1987, and pioneered deep-water fly fishing around Manhattan in the early 90's.  His favorite species to catch on fly are bonefish, false albacore, and BIG striped bass.  Capt. Azar has been guiding since 1995 and has led many people to their first saltwater fish on a fly, and many to their first striped bass.   Capt. Azar has authored numerous articles on fishing that have appeared in Saltwater Sportsman, Saltwater Fly Fishing and the Outdoors Column of                         The New York Times.
